Bills' Disappointing Performance Opens Patriots Path to AFC East Lead - Best of NFL Week 10

The tenth week once more provided excitement, with a major surprise for the Buffalo Bills proving the 'any given Sunday' saying that attracts so many people into the National Football League
This outcome could have created opportunities for the New England Patriots to move back into a top spot they formerly held, with a remaining games that provides them an edge over their 8-2 rivals
Over in the NFC the Seahawks and Rams had perfect results to arrange a major confrontation next week, while our player of the week is pursuing milestones as well as the MVP award
Analysis - Just a Bad Day for the Bills?
Could it simply have been an emotional comedown from defeating Kansas City the previous week or a deeper issue? This remains the question for the Buffalo team to answer
The Bills had secured seven victories in a consecutive games against Miami but were outperformed from the start as the Miami team ran out 30-13 victors in an eye-opening outcome - and display
MVP quarterback Josh Allen only achieved the team's initial first down in the third period and first points in the fourth - admittedly Miami had 10 days to get ready but it was nonetheless a massive egg produced by one of the league's best offenses
Tua Tagovailoa threw two scores but rusher De'Von Achane was the game-changing factor, with 225 combined yards and two touchdowns
Bottling up the NFL's top running game was crucial too, with Cook and company recording just eighty-six yards, their lowest of the year and slightly more than fifty percent their 161.5-yard average
Additionally there were the three crucial turnovers, and the pair from Josh Allen specifically. An interception in the end zone meaning a nine minute drive produced nothing, and his fourth-quarter dropped ball that Miami turned into a touchdown just later
It was classic 'previous Bills teams' as they shot themselves in the foot, falling into a hole on defensive side and Allen attempting to overcompensate to dig his team out of it - rather than the composed, controlled, well-balanced Buffalo team we've witnessed this season
The Dolphins have demonstrated a bit of everything this year so the jury's out on whether this is the start of a trend, but for Buffalo they'll require an instant response in a tough game against the Buccaneers in week 11 as the New England are sneaking into a comfortable advantage at the top of the AFC East
In Focus - Patriots See Path to Unexpected First Place
Speaking of the New England, they're one of three different 8-2 teams in the league, all AFC sides, but are they the top team?
You can find flaws in the Patriots, Denver and the Colts really for feasting on the weaker opponents, with just five of their combined twenty-four victories achieved against opponents with a positive record - and one of those was the Colts beating the Denver
Denver defeated the reigning champion Eagles in Philadelphia and are kings of the final quarter while Indianapolis can ride Taylor, but the Patriots including Sunday's victory in Tampa to their prime time win in Orchard Park seems like a statement
Their two defeats occurred in new head coach Vrabel's first three games, with seven straight victories, similar to Denver, from that point - but defeating Mayfield after the Bucs had a week off to get ready was significant
Maye's Most Valuable Player credentials won't go away, and he definitely deserves point for bravery after taking some hard tackles in Tampa but persevering to steer his team to success
The defensive unit is reliable and first-year rusher Henderson exploded on Sunday with 147 yards and two exciting scores of fifty-five and sixty-nine yards - establishing himself as just the fifth ball carrier to exceed 22mph this year on his first score
Although you can debate who 'the top team' is technically, the Patriots should be favourites to end with the top record due to their schedule - which features just a single matchup against a winning team, although a significant contest against Buffalo
Visiting Baltimore is challenging too, but the Broncos have it even tougher in the AFC West division with the Chiefs to play twice, the Los Angeles Chargers (who could also challenge for first place but encounter the same problem) and also the Green Bay on the schedule
The Colts also play the Kansas City, and have the Seahawks, 49ers and two games with the 5-4 Jacksonville to face. There is a considerable distance to go but the door is available for a surprise top seed in the American Football Conference
Coming Up - Rams & Seahawks Set for Next Week Clash
Two teams with strong arguments to be better than all of the three different 8-2 teams are National Football Conference West opponents the Seahawks and Rams, who both put up 40 burgers to go to 7-2 before next week's Hollywood blockbuster meeting between the two in LA
Both have secured four victories in a consecutive games, have quarterbacks in Matthew Stafford and Sam Darnold performing at an elite level (although Sam Darnold had turnover issues on Sunday) with top receivers, and defenses allowing under 20 points a game
Both could easily be undefeated as too - especially the Rams as their two defeats occurred in overtime against the 49ers and then that painful defeat in Philadelphia when they had a potentially winning field goal with the last kick deflected and run back by the Philadelphia for a touchdown
The Seahawks were also defeated to San Francisco, with a last-minute score in the opening week, before losing to the last kick of the contest against the Buccaneers - so they're genuinely among the best sides in the NFL
The upcoming game on Sunday could be the most exciting of the season so far
Player of the Week - Taylor
Jonathan Taylor might be on for a record season after his remarkable performance in Berlin - rushing for 244 rushing yards, registering three scores and contributing another 42 {receiving yards
