Exploring an Unique Steam Game Trial: Playing as a Piece of Feces in a Mission to Arrive at the Toilet
Steam Next Fest is in full swing, and gamers have encountered a variety of interesting independent titles. However, one catches the eye for its offbeat concept. Named Unko Technica, this old-school styled side-scrolling game includes a protagonist that is literally a dung striving to navigate to a commode. For those curious, "Unko" is Japanese for "poop."
The gameplay is simple: just use a single jump button. Throughout 150 levels, you'll face tough enemies and unlock a market to acquire skins for your dung hero.
Execute your movements carefully, as a mistake forces beginning again. Jump on air pockets to hurl yourself higher, navigate fragile platforms, and touch triggers to reveal secret routes. Earn currency for buying more difficult levels as things intensifies.
In terms of design, the experience features vibrant stages and an amazing music score. The retro graphics featuring morphing basic polygons could recall fans of old favorites like Earthbound.
Although tough to recall previous releases where you play as a piece of feces, video games have long included fecal matter. As an illustration, in Death Stranding, players create throwables from protagonist droppings. Titles such as Palworld and Ark: Survival Evolved employ manure as soil enrichment. Unsurprisingly, fecal references appears heavily in Obsidian's role-playing game The Stick of Truth.
Putting aside its silly idea, Unko Technica has already earned significant recognition, such as winning at a major publisher's GYAAR Studio in 2023. This trial version is ready now on Steam, with the full game scheduled to launch on Steam on November 19.
